Accessibility
This site aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and goes further for text contrast. If anything gets in your way, tell Lloyd and he will fix it or send you the information another way.
Which standard does it follow?
WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That includes the WCAG 2.0 Level AA requirements that Section 508 sets for US federal websites.
What has been done?
- Text contrast is at least 7 to 1 in both light and dark mode, checked automatically on every build.
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring.
- Reduced motion, higher contrast and forced colors settings are respected.
- Pages reflow without sideways scrolling from 160 to 1920 pixels wide, which covers 400 percent zoom.
- Form fields have labels, and errors are written next to the field they belong to.
- Every page is tested with axe and a headless browser in light and dark mode.
What are the known limits?
The video player is provided by YouTube and donations happen on GoFundMe, so those parts follow their own accessibility. Cat profiles and photos are still being added, and alt text is written by hand as they arrive.
How do you report a barrier?
If you find an accessibility barrier, or need any page in an alternative format such as plain text by email, email helplloydscats@gmail.com or message WhatsApp. Lloyd is in Amman, so allow for the time difference.
